A year to remember…

What a year it has been? I am sure the answer to this would be a mix of emotions for each and everyone of us. So, I decided to look back at few of these moments that were indeed memorable for me. Sounds positive?

In all honesty, this year has been a roller coaster ride to the entire human race. We were all taught to live with what he have got and to be content. Further more, we were reminded about the concept of survival. Personally, I learnt the hard way that life has to move on, no matter what 😊. At the beginning of 2020, the only resolution I took was to resolve all the conflicts that I had with different people back then and as usual, failed miserably πŸ˜…. I kept whining about every thing that happened to me without realising that those are the very things that are going to make me stronger than ever before! Phew, I am glad I have gotten this far.

I started off the year buying a used vehicle, courtesy an ex-colleague. Before I could enjoy my long drives, I rammed it on a highway 😜. I wasn’t an expert driver then and I should have known that before taking my parents along on a ride. Fortunately, all of us came out unscathed (Except for the expenses incurred, I would take everything else about the accident on 10th January as memory😜).

Felt sorry for the biker though πŸ˜”

What followed later was some unexpected turn of events that lasted for months. Though I partly contributed to the problem, I never wanted the solution I got. Nevertheless, I am up and running like never before! πŸ˜†

Have you ever heard of the phrase β€œPlaying the long game”? For as long as I have known my parents, they have always prioritised my needs over theirs and didn’t live their lives to the fullest. It was high time, I did something for them and then this happened. I contributed partially to their dream and this is the only reason that I wanted to cherish this particular memory! It was on the 27th of January. Our house warming!

Why do housewarming ceremonies have to be early in the day? πŸ˜…

A month later, just before COVID19 hit us, I went on an impromptu trip only to travel back few hours later. It was special because of the wicket that was falling down, if you know what i mean 😜!! Larger the gang, larger the fun! The night of 7th March was full of stories, almost from every genre that Tamil cinema has ever produced. Damn, I missed going on these impromptu trips! Are you reading this fellas? Let us plan one soon..

Soon after this, a country-wide lockdown was implemented on 23rd March. Life was different and being indoors felt really good without having to commute, thereby saving a lot of time. Oh yeah, only Bangalorean’s might appreciate this 😜.

About a month and a half later when relaxations from the lockdown were announced, I took a detour with my mother and we ended up shopping. Co-incidentally, it was on mother’s day. 10th May. Who wouldn’t want to play smart? πŸ˜… I bought her a few sarees and the (next) best thing that she would love to spend her time with(after me, of course!! 😜). Jokes apart, being able to put a smile on their faces is a paramount feeling that can never be matched. I am super happy that I have been able to do this for quite a while and which is why this will always be something that I would love to take alongside me, year after year!

Fast forward to 13th June, it was a professionally rewarding day as I saw myself through a certification that I was all excited about. This is special because of the technology and what it has done to the domain I work in. Going into the details of it will only kill your mood to scroll down, if it hasn’t already! 😁

After being locked down for close to about 6 months, we were finally allowed to travel and I did not waste any time. I had been to Chennai for that weekend and from there on my peeps kept me busy for the rest of 2020.

A friend in need is a friend indeed” and all of mine were through my thick and thin and helped me survive the storm. While I couldn’t get all of them to pose for me, I managed to find one with few of them, in which I looked good and candid too. This was on the 22nd of November and it is special because of the bond we share! Doesn’t mean the rest of you are valued any lesser πŸ™ˆ. Just that they know all of my secrets!

We decided to celebrate new year much earlier than anyone could have ever thought of (13th December) and this led to an other trip. The plan was to reach Pondicherry when we started from Chennai. As soon as we hit the road, Mahabalipuram seemed a better option. Half way through the ride, we booked a resort in Kovalam. Did some one say “go with the flow”? 😜

Did I not say 2020 was a year to remember? While there were many such sweet moments all through the year, there were few bitter ones too! Like I feel funny about the bitter incidents now, I am sure you would too someday, if you have had any such incidents so far. Put those behind you and bear a bright smile on your face. Give it enough time and believe in “this too shall pass”. If I can do it, so can you!!

If you guys have reached this far, thank you for the patience and belief you have in me πŸ˜‚. Hope this wasn’t a let down! Stay strong and spread happiness, for it will only come back to you multifold!
